I originally created this image by combining the tree from “Circuit Tree” with a root pattern in the shape of the state of North Carolina. This print was commissioned by the Distance Learning program at NCSSM. I meant the image to communicate the creation of a fiber optic network to bring remote educational opportunities to the entire state. I printed this with silver ink on dark blue paper in a series of ten “artists’ proofs” in addition to the regular edition for NCSSM.
