Cytoplasmic Exploration
1982
I made this print in conjunction with the other electron micrograph, “Astronomical Gastronomical.” I worked over the summer on both of these prints, but I didn’t have any hot water functioning in my fourth floor Bryan Art area. I used the hot water in a bathroom in Wyche House to make the screenprinting stencils I used for both of these prints. This print is an exploration of parts of three adjacent cells in the body of a mouse. It shows the cell walls, nuclei, ribosomes, mitochondria, and cytoplasm of the cells in five colors.
