Astronomical Gastronomical
1982
Once while in the Biology Department in the basement of Hill House, the original teacher, Ross Baker, showed me some photographs that she and her students had taken with an electron microscope at Duke. I was captivated by the other worldly shapes in these images. I asked Ross if she would let me use one of the photographs of the lining of the intestine of a mouse for one of my screenprints. She agreed and I enlarged the photograph, divided it up into five colors, and printed them to produce this image that reminded me of an alien creature the Star Trek Enterprise might have run into in some far off galaxy.
